Welcome to East, Central and Southern Africa College of Nursing (ECSACON) Kenya Chapter

ECSACON is a Professional Regional body for nurses and midwives in the East, Central and Southern Africa region established in 1990. ECSACON -Kenya Chapter is one of the sixteen (16) chapters spread in the region -from Botswana to Zimbabwe. Kenya Chapter, a membership of one thousand (1,000) members of which half of them are paid up members of the regional college. As the Country National Representative (CNR), I look forward to a membership growth to two thousand by 2022 with at least one thousand (1,000) being paid up members to the regional college. ECSACON Kenya Chapter exists to promote and strengthen professional excellence working closely with the key pillars of Nursing and Midwifery in Kenya i.e. Ministry of Health at the National and at the 47 Counties (Office of Director Nursing Services, Nursing Council of Kenya, Professional Associations and Union, and Training Institutions , through the four faculties of Clinical Practice, Education, Leadership and Management and Research in order to improve service delivery and uplift the quality of health of the people of Kenya.

To achieve this the Chapter works very closely with partners who are key players in health. Kenya Chapter is working with young and upcoming nurses and midwives in schools and colleges throughout the country
ECSACON Kenya Chapter has had the privileged to host two consecutive regional meetings -12th & 13th Biennial Scientific Conference and the 6th General Meeting in 2016 and 2018 respectively in Nairobi, both meetings held at Safari Park Hotel. To keep up the momentum which has been achieved in the last four (4) years, the Chapter will hold annual scientific conference to mark and celebrate ECSACON day in August. This year 2019, conference will be hosted in Kisumu County 7-8 August details of which are provide and we welcome members and partners to attend, support and participate in the conference. In 2020 Nakuru County will host the conference and in 2021, Kwale County will host the conference.

I am privileged to be the Country National Representative and I look forward to work very closely with all members and our esteemed collaborators to set a vibrant and functional chapter in the region.
